How do you know if somebody is your friend?
- He is feeling free to call you for no reason but just to talk
- You know that he is going to tolerated you singing, dancing or making a stupid joke
- BOTH of you love to spend more time together than you can
- You are proud to let others know that he is your friend
- Coming over to each other places is easy and natural
- He knows how to make you hospital room a fun place to be
- He is the first name that comes in to your mind when you want to tell some one that life is not fun
- You can talk about God, sex, feelings, movies, cars, sports and all comes easy
. . . and he feels about you the same way
(Or may be I just need to find a girlfriend?)

Awesome description of a friend - and no, I don't think you need a girlfriend for that (though if you get married someday you want someone who could be that kind of friend)

Each of us could say different things about - what is friendship. And i think all would be ok, because it's our own experience.
I liked how you described it. Really wonderful!
Here is one more opinion:
-It's sharing your greatest joys and deepest hurts.
-It's revealing your wildest dreams and secrets of the soul.
- It's expressing yourself with heartfelt words and understood silences.
- It's counting each other when times are tough and decisions are difficult...
- It's sharing the stories of your past and ypur hopes for tomorrow.
- It's experiencing the tears, the laughter, and the craziness of life with someone who understands...
- And it means so much to share it with someone like you.
- It's Gods blessing!

You know what; I think that for all of us friendships are so important. I think that that is the way God build us to live our lives together (and I am not thinking about marriage). I think that if we would take initiative and do something about being a better friend life would be so much better for all of us. I will try to be better friend; I am not sure how will it work, but I will try.
